The most convenient type of garage doors today are the electric garage doors. They do not require any manual opera ration except of course during power outage. You can easily open your garage door with a simple press of a button while you are not even near your garage. This means you don’t need to get out your car during rainy nights just to open your garage and transfer from the safety of your car to the safety of your home.

If you currently own a manual garage door and want to upgrade to electric garage doors, you can do this in three steps.

Step 1: Find out what kind of door you have.

There are many kinds of garage doors. There is the hinged garage door that opens out, or the canopy garage door that has tracks on its sides, or the sectional garage door (over head garage door) or the retractable garage door that has both horizontal and vertical tracks.

Step 2: Pick your garage door opener.

The garage door opener is actually the device that automates your garage door. It must be able to carry the weight of your door. There are three kinds of openers to choose from: the Belt Drive, Screw Drive and Chain Drive. Ask your door company for compatible garage openers for your type of garage door.

Step 3: Install your opener.

The installation of a garage door opener can either be don e buy a qualified service man or even by yourself, as long as you are certain that you can do the job properly. Make sure that your newly automated electric garage doors are working accordingly.

Upgrading from manual garage door to electric garage doors need not be a hassle. You dont even need to spend a lot for it because you will not be replacing your old doors. With these three steps, change your ordinary manual garage doors into the modern electric garage doors.
